How to Update Video Card Drivers in Windows 10?

If you have just upgraded to Windows 10 or reinstalled Windows 10, you may want to update the video drivers. If your computer is slow, you may want to try updating the graphics drivers to improve your computer. If you are having problems with your computer due to video driver issues, you may need to update the drivers. Whatever the reason, you can easily update the video drivers to troubleshoot some problems.

There are three ways to update the video driver. You can choose the method you prefer, but please note that not every method will necessarily work. If one method does not work, try another method until you successfully update the driver.

01: Update Video Drivers via Windows Update

You can download and install a new video driver through Windows Update. Follow the steps below to do so.

1) On the keyboard, press Windows+R at the same time to open the Run dialog.

2) Type devmgmt.msc and press Enter to open Device Manager.

3) In Device Manager, expand the Display Adapters category. Right-click on your graphics card and select Update Driver.

02: Download and Install New Drivers from the Manufacturer

If you know what you are doing, you can download and install the drivers manually. Both the PC manufacturer and the device manufacturer provide the drivers. If you are using a pre-built desktop or laptop, it is recommended that you go to the PC manufacturer’s website, as they will customize the drivers. If you build your own desktop, or if the PC manufacturer does not provide the new video drivers you need, you can download the drivers from the graphics card manufacturer.

To download the correct drivers from the PC manufacturer, you need to get the PC model name and the specific operating system (Windows 10 32-bit or Windows 10 64-bit ).

If you don’t know the PC model name or the specific version of Windows 10, you can find it by checking the system information. Follow these steps.

1) On your keyboard, press the Windows + R key at the same time to invoke the Run command.

2) Type msinfo32 and click OK. After that, the System Information window will open.


3) The System Model is the model name of the PC.

To download the correct driver from the video card manufacturer, you need to know the video card model and the specific Windows version. If you are not sure what video card you have installed, you can check through Device Manager.

1) On your keyboard, press the Windows + R key at the same time to invoke the Run command.

2) Type devmgmt.msc and press Enter to open Device Manager.

3) Expand the Display Adapters category, and then you will get the model name of the graphics card. If you have more than one video card installed, you will see more than one item under this branch.

03: Automatic Driver Update
