1. Disable Browser Extensions to Fix Google Chrome Black Screen in Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7

Some specific extensions could lead to the Google Chrome black screen issue. You could disable your newly installed extensions and check whether the black screen is gone. Once you find out the extension that causes the black screen problem, you could try to reinstall it and check whether the Google Chrome black screen issue comes back. If yes, you’d better remove this extension.

2. Turn Off Hardware Acceleration

Google Chrome runs Hardware Acceleration by default to speed the page browsing experience. But it can trigger the black screen issue on Google Chrome once in a while. You could turn off the hardware acceleration.

Step 1. Open Google Chrome.

Step 2. Click Settings.

Step 2. Click Advanced and Chrome’s advanced Settings will be displayed.

Step 3. Uncheck the Use hardware acceleration when available option.

3. Reinstall Google Chrome

The final fix for the Google Chrome black screen issue is reinstalling Google Chrome. You need to uninstall the browser first and then reinstall it.
