How to Check Graphics Card Information on a Windows 10 PC

A graphics processing unit powers every computer (GPU). You wouldn’t see an image on your screen without one. Dedicated graphics cards are used in some computers while motherboard or processor-integrated GPUs are used in others.

It is simple to find out your graphics card specs using a variety of ways if you are still unsure. Here’s how to check your graphics card on a Windows 10 PC.

1. Check Your Graphics Card via Driver Talent

2. Check Your Graphics Card via Device Manager

a. Open Start.
b. Search for Device Manager and click the top result to open the tool.

If necessary, double-click the graphics card to open its properties to see detailed information about the drivers or view the event log.

3. Check Your Graphics Card via DXDIAG tool

DxDiag is a diagnostic tool that allows you to troubleshoot any video or sound-related problems, so you can use it to find your video card specs.

a. Type “dxdiag” in the search bar.
b. Open the dxdiag app that appears.

d. Under the “Device” section, check your graphics card.

4. Check Your Graphics Card via System Information

To check the graphics card on Windows 10 with System Information, use these steps:

a. Open Start.

b. Search for System Information and click the top result to open the tool.

c. Expand the Components branch.

d. Click on Display.

e. Under the “Adapter Description” field, determine the graphics card installed on your device.

Once you complete the steps, you’ll know the graphics card make and model, as well as driver information and more.

5. Check Your Graphics Card via Task Manager

a. Right click the Start button.

b. Click on Task Manager.

c. Click the Performance tab.

d. Click GPU on the left pane. You will be shown detailed information about the GPU.
